Best Bug-type Pokémon in Pokémon Go

Before we begin, we want to cover a few important points while reading this list. Everything in the list below affects how we rank the best Pokemon, so you'll want to check it out at least once.

  • Pokémon Modifications: Certain Pokémon can be modified into different versions, which greatly strengthens them so as to place them at the top of a list, even if their standard version would not be there. Changes rarely apply to Bug Pokemon, so we've excluded them from our lists.
  • Combination Types: Any Pokemon type can be mixed with any other type, which can cause confusion in choosing the best one. These secondary types can alter the recommended moveset, weaknesses, and other important stats such as Max CP. However, Bug-type Pokémon are very rarely without a secondary type, so we include them in the overall list.
  • The Algorithm: We determine our lists by getting the stats of the ten Pokémon with the highest DPS in their category. Then we take the averages of their max CP, attack, defense, and stamina. Ranks are determined by which Pokemon has the best overall placement of those stats. We made it this way because it means you don't just get the highest CP, but rather the strongest Pokemon ranked by balanced averages.
  • Lists of Major Bug Types: The list below provides you with all the lists we provide in this guide for Bug Pokemon.
  • Strengths/Weaknesses: This list will provide you with all Bug-type Pokémon weaknesses and strengths.
