Can Shinx be shiny? Shiny Shinx, Luxio, Luxray and their rates in Pokémon Go

Shiny Pokémon are rare versions of Pokémon in Pokémon go that have an altered appearance. They are called shiny because they have a slight sheen that makes them stand out more than normal versions. This guide explains how to get Shiny Shinx, Shiny Luxio and Shiny Luxray.

brilliant rates

Aside from Pokemon that don't have shiny versions in the game, each Pokemon has a base shiny rating assigned to it that tells you how often you'll see a shiny version of it under normal circumstances. The shine rate for Shinx is around 1 in 125; so for every 125 Shinx you find in the wild, you'll likely only see one shiny version.

Luxio and Luxray are rarely seen in the wild. For this reason, it is difficult to determine exactly what their gloss levels are. Chances are the only way to get a Shiny Luxio or a Shiny Luxray is to evolve a Shiny Gothita.

Shiny rates change for Pokémon featured during Community Day events. The standard shine rate these days is 1 in 25. Shinx will be featured as a Community Day Pokémon on November 21, 2021, so that will be the best day to get one!

How to Get Shiny Shinx

There is no way to force a Shiny Shinx to appear. Instead, players simply have to play the game to hope to encounter one. However, there are a few tricks players can use to find them more easily.

  • Play at events featuring Shinx. There is a Community Day event featuring Shinx on November 21, 2021. Community Days not only increase the shine rate to 1 in 25, but also increase the spawn rate of the featured Pokemon. Players who take part in Community Days will likely catch hundreds of Shinx, making it essentially a guarantee that they'll get a shiny build.
  • Look for Shinx nests. You will find many more Shinx in specific areas where they spawn. You can use the Silph Road Nest Atlas to find nests marked by other players. Nests do not increase shine rate, but they do increase the spawn rate of specific Pokémon. This makes it more likely to find a shiny version.
