Fortnite servers can sometimes experience some issues. We explain how to follow the status of the servers to know if they are in maintenance (down) or not. Whether following a problem or to implement an update, one day or another you may have problems launching Fortnite and joining a game, on PC, Xbox or PlayStation, whether you're playing online with friends or not. That's why we tell you how to know if fortnite servers are under maintenance (down) or if the problem can be with you.

Fortnite maintenance, servers down or online?

Most of the time, Fortnite servers will be offline as an update approaches and a corrective patch is applied. So that it doesn't bother players too much, Epic Games tries to limit it, but sometimes it takes longer than expected. It may also be that the servers are down without maintenance being in progress, following various problems. If you're having trouble connecting to the battle royale, here are some tips for track Fortnite server status.

Servers not responding

As with many online games, developers notify the community on social media before an update is rolled out. So you can head over to the game's Twitter account to see if any maintenance is underway or has been announced (if so, a recent tweet will mention it). Otherwise, you can go to various sites, such as Downdetector, which lists problems in real time, including those on Fortnite.

However, it may be that the servers are operational, but that you cannot connect to the game or that you have problems during your games, it may be because of you. Therefore, we recommend some tips to try to remedy it.
  • Restart your game : If you haven't already, just try to restart Fortnite.
  • Check that the game is up to date : In very rare cases, your game may simply not be up to date.
  • Restart the PC or console : If, despite everything, you still cannot start a game, do not hesitate to restart your console or your computer.
  • Restart your router : Finally, the last solution is to restart your internet box. For some cases, restarting the router is enough to join an online game.
If, despite everything, the problem persists, do not hesitate to contact the support, which could help you.
