If you're like me and haven't pre-downloaded the game like people who know what they're doing, then you're looking for a pretty slow download rate if you're on PC. Well, after watching the many hours it would take to complete, you might be wondering if there is any way to increase the speed to have a chance of playing this newly released game. Believe it or not, there is one really simple thing you can do to install the game much faster!
Increase in download speed
To make Genshin Impact download faster, all you need to do is pause the download and re-enable it. Although it seems too simple to work, it has the potential to speed things up enormously. You may have to do this a few times, but eventually you should go from the modest 0,2MB/s to something like 1,3MB/s, which cuts the download time by several hours!
I had 0,2-0,3 MB/s before using this trick, and after a few pauses and restarts I was able to increase to 1,45 MB/s, which is significantly better than wait 8 hours for the download to finish.
You can also try closing the game completely and reopening it if pausing and playing doesn't work for you. I can tell you from experience though that it worked for me. I was looking for an eight hour wait for it to finish and this little thing cut it down to an hour and a half!
Unfortunately, right now Genshin Impact is downloading worldwide and the servers are probably experiencing some traffic. The game got off to a pretty amazing start, and we'll see if it's able to continue that momentum in the future!
