How to Best Use Windward Arts in Genshin Impact's Windtrace Event

Windtrace is an event that plays out like a prop hunt game. Some Genshin Impact players instantly bond with the game's mechanics, while others struggle to get both reels. Whether you're a Hunter or a Rebel, you need to know how to use Windward Arts if you want to win.

There are three different moves Rebels and Hunters can use in a match to try and outwit each other. Once you know how to use both sets of moves, winning a game becomes much easier and much more fun.

Your objective is to capture the three rebels using the shots provided to you. Try to start the game using a mysterious hunch, as it will tell you the direction of the rebels. Most rebels will disguise themselves as objects in the field, so roam the map using capture.

When possible, deploy Sensor Aura to check for Rebels nearby. When using these moves be sure to look for the move, many rebels will try to sneak past you when you start to get too close to their position.

Finally, you have your elemental burst:

  • Curse of Imprisonment: Will reveal and hold a Rebel, you can use Mysterious Intuition to help you find them when the Burst is used.
  • Insight: Removes disquises from everyone and marks them with a pillar of blue light.
  • Hunter's Insight: Will remove a rebel's disguise and mark it on your minimap.

Which burst you want to use is up to you and your playstyle, but Insight is always a great choice.

Rebelle

As a rebel, your job is to hide from the hunter and avoid capture. You can choose to use bait, which places a false disguise that will blind the hunter, or you can choose invisible, which makes you invisible for a short time. Disguise allows you to transform into pre-selected objects to hide in plain sight, and Starstep will increase your movement speed.

Using a disguise doesn't always work well, and most seasoned hunters will check all objects in the field, even if they're well placed. You may really want to use all your skills to quickly move around the hunter.

Stairstep lets you outrun them, invisible lets you disappear from the scene, and disguise lets you blend into the background in case they look back. Baiting, on the other hand, is only good if you want to play an aggressive game with the hunter.

Try to hide in places where you can easily observe the hunter's movements while having several ways to escape if he spots you.
