Sinnoh's remakes brought a ton of extra features, from a separate Hidden Moves Pokétch app to party-wide experience sharing. It also has a function present in all modern Pokémon games: affection bonuses. These are extra actions your Pokemon will perform, such as dodge moves and critical hits, due to the high friendship for their trainer.
However, affection bonuses are not always so important. Your Pokemon may accidentally critically hit a Legendary you're trying to capture, for example, and defeat it. Many trainers also complained about how the dodge moves made the game too easy. If you want to play Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl with affection bonuses out of the way, there are several things you can do.
1. Feed them grass
The only way to cancel affection bonuses in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is to lower your Pokemon's Friendship Level. The fastest way to do this is to feed them a ton of herbs. These are items that heal your Pokemon but make them less friendly. You can buy herbs from the herb shop in Eterna City.

2. Let them fade in battle
Another easy way to make your Pokemon hate you is to let them fade in battle. If the opposing Pokémon is 30 levels higher than yours, it will lose its affection faster.
3. Keep them in your box
Did you know that just walking with your Pokémon increases its affection for you? If you don't want that to happen, rotate your party so your Pokemon are in the box often. It will also allow you to distribute the EXP you earn in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which will make battles much more difficult,
