A Pokémon's nickname is a reflection of our affection and love for them. You can assign nicknames each time you catch a Pokémon or capture one. However, what if you accidentally skip the nickname selection? What if you wanted to give them a new nickname?

How to Change Your Pokemon's Nickname in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
To change your Pokémon's nickname, visit the Name Rater in Eterna City. It is in the building to the right of the Pokémart. There you will see an old man in blue sitting on the nearest table. It will ask you if you want your Pokemon's nickname noted.
Say yes, present the Pokémon whose name you want to change. He will make a wry comment about it, but later ask you if you want to give a better name. Say yes to that too, and you'll be allowed to change his name.
You can only change the nicknames of Pokémon you've bred or captured. Traded Pokémon retain their original nicknames.
