Let's face it. As entertaining as it can be to play Pokemon Unite with and against friends, the one thing we're all excited about is... seeing Snorlax wearing summer clothes. Seriously, who doesn't want to see Garchomp rocking a snorkel or Machamp in dope shorts?
Similar to other MOBAs, Pokemon Unite offers a variety of skins that players can purchase or unlock. Buying them with real money is quite simple. Using the different in-game currencies can be a bit confusing. Especially when it comes to Pokemon Unite Holowear Tickets.
What are Holowear tickets?
Holowear Tickets are one of Pokemon Unite's in-game currencies that are used to unlock Pokemon Holowear skins.
Once you've obtained Holowear Tickets, head to the Zirco Trading store to purchase some of these items. The best of the best will of course require Aeos Gems (purchased with real money). The current selection that can be unlocked through Holowear Tickets is solid, however.
How to Get Holowear Tickets
Holowear tickets are rare.
There are no challenges, daily or otherwise, that will reward you. And you can't get them by upgrading your trainer or winning matches. At the moment, there are only two ways to get Holowear Tickets and neither is ideal.
The best way to get Holowear tickets is through the Energy Rewards system. There's a power conversion machine housed in a menu on the right side of the start screen. Click on the icon just above the "search lobby" button.
Once there, you will be able to convert the energy you have obtained (by playing matches) into random rewards. One of these rewards is a bundle of Holowear tickets. Unfortunately, you only get 10 tickets at a time this way.
The second way to get Holowear Tickets is to purchase and complete the Battle Pass. You will receive a prize box offering tickets once you have maxed out the pass. After that, you will get another prize box every 130 points after your max level.
Although Nintendo wants players to spend money on Pokemon skins, the way Holowear Tickets are obtained is a bit annoying. It would be better if players got a few tickets here and there when they complete the Battle Pass or the Energy system provides more tickets at once, because the cheapest skin costs 18 tickets - and unfortunately that's not for Snorlax.
There is also the matter of owning the Pokemon.
At this time, you can't buy a cool skin for a Pokemon you don't own. And since the shop rotates what is or isn't available, you may not be able to buy the skin you want after you get the required tickets. Luckily, there are other ways to unlock Holowear skins.
