New Pokemon Snap Illumina Orbs: How to Get Them

To progress in New Pokemon Snap, you must meet certain criteria on each island to unlock other areas, times of day, etc. One of those criteria that you must meet on each island is to unlock the new Pokemon Snap Illumina orbs for that island.

Finding each of the new Pokemon Snap Illumnia orbs is simply done by discovering an activated Crystabloom flower hidden somewhere on a course and photographing it for Professor Mirror. This will give you instant access to the throwable item, which in turn unlocks new interactions, allowing for continued progression.

For this new Pokemon Snap guide, we'll be discussing the location of each Crystabloom flower and what you need to do to snap it so you can unlock the associated Illumina Orb.

How to Unlock Each Island's Illumina Orbs

Florio – Natural Park (Night)

New Pokemon Snap Illumina Orbs: How to Get Them

Once you've unlocked the Night Edition of the Nature Park Course by reaching Tier 2 of the Daytime Version, you'll want to head there to find the Crystabloom.

It's probably the easiest to grab because it just sits there waiting for you at the end of the trail in the flower field on the right side, where you just take a quick shot and move on. Illumina Orb completed!

Additionally, you can shoot the Crystabloom at the start of the Illumina spot for Florio, but you'll gain access to this spot earlier.

Belusylva – Founja Jungle (Night)

We are again looking for the night course for the Founja Jungle in Belusylva, where it is almost as easy to get this Crystabloom as the first one. Again, get to level 2 of the day course to unlock the night version.

Once you reach the final section of the trail with the waterfall and pond on your left, you'll want to watch out for the sleeping Quagsire sitting on the right side of the path.

Next to this Quagsire is Belusylva's Glowing Crystabloom. Take a picture and move on! You can now use Illumina Orbs on each of Belusylva's courses.

Maricopia - Slow seabed

This is where things get a little more interesting, as you need to complete a few steps on other courses to get this one unlocked in the first place. You will need to level up two courses to level 2 to unlock this course – Blushing Beach (day) and Maricopia Reef (day).

Once you've done that, you'll start scouring the underwater depths where you'll find a hidden Crystabloom.

Before descending into the underwater cave where the Wailmer casts a Pyukumuku, you'll see a patch of seaweed to your right filled with Cradily and Lumineon.

There is a sleeping Lumineon in the middle of the seaweed. You'll need to hit it with a fluffruit to make it move, which will allow the glowing Crystabloom behind it to be photographed.

Voluca – Choking Sands (night)

To go back to the original ways of the first two islands, simply go to Tier 2 of the Sweltering Sand (Day) map to unlock its Night Edition.

From there you will enter the night course and continue on the planned path (do not take the course deviation to the left) and before falling into the area with the sleeping Onyx, look to the right along the cliffs.

You'll see the glowing Crystabloom when you start to fall, so be prepared for a quick shot or use your zoom once down to take a shot and unlock the Illumina orbs for the Voluca region.

Durice – Shiver Snowfields (Nuit)

After unlocking the night course by reaching level 2 of the Shiver Snowfield course (day), you'll get about halfway through the course before you find this Crystabloom trying to hide.

After climbing the steep snowy hill, you will enter the second section of the course and see a large crevasse ahead of you.

As you work your way through it, look down to see the glowing Crystabloom below. Snapshot - Illumina Orb unlocked!

Aurus – Ruins of Remembrance

Once you reach level 2 in the Outaway Cave course, you'll unlock the Ruins, where this Crystabloom is easiest to find.

In the beginning section, after the Edlegoss float passes and you see the Houndoom running, you'll want to pay attention to the right side of the course. On the cliff wall you will have your flower waiting to be photographed.

After taking this picture, you'll have unlocked all of the Illumina Orbs for the new Pokémon Snap and can continue to work on finding all of the alternate interactions and routes on your way to completing your PhotoDex.

And that's how to get all the new Pokemon Snap Illumina orbs. For more on New Pokemon Snap, consider heading to our Guide Hub for the game.
