Subnautica: Below Zero - Where To Find Lodestone

Subnautica: Below Zero - Where To Find Lodestone

Resources are plentiful in the icy oceans of Subnautica: Below Zero, but finding them is a whole other thing. But to craft gear, mods, and more, these raw materials must be found and stored for future use.

One such resource is Magnetite, which is used for advanced crafting. The best places to find magnetite are:

Ore deposits don't respawn when harvesting, so repeatedly returning to the same area to farm doesn't work.

    • Phi Robotics Center (Contact details | -1181.4 21.1 -656.7)
      • Head inside the door and straight ahead is a collapsed structure. Go under this structure on the right and follow the wall. Inside a crevice to your left are five lodestones.
    • Glacial Basin (Coordinates | -1277.0 25.4 -559.9)
      • This location is very close to the Pho Robotics center. As you exit the door, go up the slight incline to the left until you can head left then right and you'll find a ladder going up. From there you head more or less directly north until you see a ladder coming down. Explore the area below for magnetite.
    • Glacial Basin (Coordinates | -1277.0 25.4 -559.9)
      • Same location as above. Upon entering, go left until you find the exit. From the exit of the cave, go left then right, to enter another cave. But this cave has a Snow Stalker inside, so equip a flare and she'll flee away from you. Explore the cave and you will find lodestone and other resources.
    • West Arctic (Coordinates | -802, -86, -666)
      • As you head inside the iceberg cave, depending on the game's RNG (random number generator), you may find a lot of lodestone or just a few. Just explore the small area thoroughly, mostly in the cracks, to make sure you've collected everything. Other materials, such as silver, gold and diamonds, will also be present.

You need the Lazer Cutter to cut the ice inside the icebergs, and a flashlight is also recommended, as the inside of the iceberg caves is quite dark.

Luckily, you don't need large amounts of this material, but that means only a few will spawn in certain areas and are very heavily influenced by how the game spawns items.
