When a live service game is unavailable for a long time, changes periodically occur on older designs. Genshin Impact is currently changing a number of designs to accommodate new censorship laws. It will affect other countries a bit differently due to the fact that MiHoYo owns Cognosphere.
Censorship laws have changed in MiHoYo's home country of China, so they are in the process of redesigning some characters to accommodate these new laws. The team is currently hard at work creating new designs and have shared what is likely the first batch of designs with players using their social media platforms.

These patterns cover Jean, Mona, Rosaria and Amber, giving them a more conservative look. These are mandatory changes on the CN server, but all other servers will receive these alternate appearances as skins. This will likely impact future character releases, merchandising, and other in-game character designs.
Players should expect characters like Raiden Shogun, Beidou, and Kokomi to get reworks in the future. These skins will also likely be released in 2.5, but due to circumstances they might be released in a smaller patch next month.
