Pokémon Unite was a smash hit, easily bringing the Pokémon franchise into the multiplayer online battle arena, or MOBA genre. Players can take control of their favorite Pokemon and battle it out in team games. Playing with friends is an essential part of the experience for anyone looking to coordinate, and the game's friends list is different than on the Nintendo Switch.
To add friends to Pokémon Unite, go to the main menu. Press X to open the secondary interface and select Friends. Once there, head to find friends. Choose the Find Friends tab. You will need to enter the user's Coach ID to find it in-game. Users can access Player IDs by pressing the left trigger in the main menu. This six-digit code is what allows players to become friends.

To accept a request, go to the Friends tab again and press the + button. All friend requests can be viewed here.
If you are already friends with a user on Nintendo Switch, press the – button to display their information in the friend search menu to quickly find their account.
