How to get Cresselia in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Cresselia is a legendary Psychic-type Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. Its extremely large build, scavenging move list, and ability to levitate make it one of the best defensive Pokémon in the game. Here's how to get Cresselia in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Cresselia can first be spotted on Fullmoon Island after receiving the National Pokédex. You can get there by boat from Canalave City. Much like the Heatran miniquest, there are a few things you need to do to capture Cresselia

First, to trigger the Cresselia event, enter Sailor Eldritch's house near the port of Canalave City. There you will find the Eldritch Child trapped in a nightmare. Speak with him and his mother to learn more about a brief history.

Venture out and talk to Eldritch (he's the same sailor who takes you to Iron Island for the Riolu quest). He will tell you that a moon feather is the only way to wake him up. Eldritch will then lead you to Fullmoon Island to collect one.

In the forest of Fullmoon Island, you meet Cresselia for the first time. She will leave immediately but not before dropping a Moon Feather. Return to Eldritch, receive his thanks, and he'll take you back to Canalave City. After this point, Cresselia can be stumbled upon in the wild. However, its location always changes whenever you enter a new area, town or village.

If you don't have the PokéRadar app yet, talk to the President of the Pokétch Society in Jubilife City. He will give it to you. The PokéRadar shows you where Cresselia is right now.

To meet Cresselia quickly, we recommend flying to Jubilife City. Repeatedly enter and exit its southern end (Route 202) until Cresselia appears on Route 202 on the PokéRadar. Once she does, just run into the first patch of tall grass in the area and you'll encounter Cresselia.

And that's all! Remember that Cresselia runs away after a few (if not the first) turn, much like Mesprit, so take a Pokémon with a Shadow Tag ability with you or put Cresselia to sleep. You can also throw the Master Ball that Cyrus gives you earlier in the game on the first turn.
