Shiny Pokémon are rare versions of Pokémon in Pokémon go that have an altered appearance. They are called shiny because they usually add a slight sheen, which makes them stand out more than normal versions.
Aside from Pokemon that don't have shiny versions in the game, each Pokemon has a base shine rate that tells you how often you'll see a shiny version. Chimchar is a relatively common Pokemon, so they don't have a boost to their rate. They are at the default shine rate of 1 in 500 (around 0,20%). So for every 500 Chimchar you catch, you'll likely only get one shiny version.
Monferno and Infernape are rarely seen in the wild, so you will very rarely come across a shiny version. Chances are the only way to get a shiny version of it is to evolve a Shiny Chimchar.

How to Get Shiny Chimchar
There is no way to force a Shiny Chimchar to spawn. Instead, players simply have to play the game to hope to encounter one. However, players can use a few tricks to find them more easily.
- Play at events featuring Chimchar. There is a Spotlight Hour featuring Chimchar on November 23, 2021. Spotlight Hours do not increase the shine rate for Pokémon, but they do greatly increase their spawn rate. It's entirely possible to encounter hundreds of Chimchars or more during Spotlight Hour, so there's a good chance you'll see a shiny version.
- Look for Chimchar nests. You will find many more Chimchars in specific areas where they spawn. You can use the Silph Road Nest Atlas to find nests marked by other players. Nests do not increase shine rate, but they do slightly increase the spawn rate of specific Pokemon. This makes him more likely to find a shiny Chimchar.
