Shiny Pokémon are rare versions of Pokémon in Pokémon Go that have an altered appearance. They are called shiny because they usually add a slight sheen, which makes them stand out more than normal versions.
Aside from Pokemon that don't have shiny versions in the game, each Pokemon has a base shine rate that tells you how often you'll see its shiny version. Snover is a basic Pokemon, which usually has a shine rating of around 1 in 500 (around 0,20%). So for every 500 Snov you catch, you'll probably only get one shiny build.

There is no way to force a Shiny version of a Pokémon to appear. Instead, players just have to play the game and hope to encounter one. However, there are a few tricks players can use to get one more easily.
- Play at events featuring Snover. The next Spotlight Hour that features this Pokémon will be hosted on December 21, 2021. Spotlight Hours do not increase the shine rate of Pokémon, but they do greatly increase their spawn rate. It's possible to come across hundreds of Snovs during Spotlight Hour, so you have a good chance of catching at least one Shiny.
- Finding Snover Nests: Finding Snover Nests is an unofficial way to find increased amounts of Snover in the wild. Nesting areas are places where specific Pokémon spawn in higher numbers. It doesn't directly increase the chance of getting a shiny Pokémon, but it does make it appear in higher numbers. A few hours with an incense in a Snover's nest will likely net you at least one shiny Snover. You can use The Silph Road Nest Atlas to find a Snover Nest near you.
