Fishing isn't just a fun mini-game in Ruined King: A League of Legends Story; it's also a way to get very rare items through the black market. Once you learn how and where to catch fish from various locations (fishing holes), you can exchange them for black points, which is a special black market currency.

This Ruined King guide will provide you with tips on how to fish, as well as all the fishing spots. You will learn how and where to buy angling gear, or just find it for free, and better understand the mini-game.

Fishing becomes available during one of the main story missions, "Fortune's Call". In this quest, you will be directed to the fishmonger, a merchant who sells rods and bait. They also provide you with black marks once you bring back pieces of fish.

You can find the Fishmonger at the Ship Salvage Yard in Docks Harbour. It is also the location of your first fishing hole.

Follow these steps to purchase the rod and bait from the fishmonger:

  • Interact with the fishmonger.
  • Select the “Browse Items” option from its menu.
  • Go to the "Buy Fishing" tab (hook icon).
  • Select an item you wish to purchase.
  • Press "BUY" to confirm.
  • A sturdy or steel fishing rod will cost around 300 gold. Part of the bait will also be around 200-300 gold. You will only need one bait for all fishing trips, so there is no need to buy more.

If you don't want to spend money on fishing tackle, you can find a free rod inside the treasure chest in Buhru's Cave in the Bilgewater area.

Now go to any available fishing hole. Equip your gear by following these steps:

  • Open the Pause menu.
  • Select the “Fishing” option.
  • Click on “ROD” and select a fishing rod from your inventory.
  • Click "LURE" and select the bait from your inventory.
  • Press “ESC” to confirm.
  • You can finally start fishing. Here are some important tips to help you get started:

    • Press "E" to cast your line, making sure your casting strength gauge is full.
    • Wait for the pop-up message "Fish On", indicating that a fish has taken the bait and is on the lure.
    • Keep pressing "E" to reel the fish onto the hook.
    • Once the green gauge on the fish is reduced to zero, the fish will be caught.
    • Press "F" to open the fishing log and see what kind of fish you caught.

You can repeat this process as many times as you want, but you can also buy more expensive fishing tackle and visit other fishing holes for better fish. Below is the list of all fishing spots in the game.
