Monster Hunter Rise is a series known for its unique bosses and enemies. Each monster is an entity with behavioral patterns, strengths and weaknesses that any adept hunter must follow if they want to take down these beasts. One of Monster Hunter Rise's bosses, Jyuratodus, the Mud Fish Wyvern, lurks in the swamps, attacking enemies that cross his path. Make sure you know how to tackle this enemy before you face them in the field.
When fighting this beast, it's good to know what it's weak against or where to deal that good old damage to take down the enemy quickly. So here are Jyuratodus' weaknesses, resistances, and drop rates.
All Jyuratodus Weaknesses
Jyuratodus' Elemental Weakness
Jyuratodus' main weakness is his dislike of thunder, so if you have any weapons with this elemental attribute, be sure to bring them along for the hunt. If you're missing a thunder weapon, try picking up fire, ice, or dragon weapons when fighting this monster. These weapons aren't nearly as impactful as thunder, but they're effective enough to make a difference. Do not use water weapons when fighting Juratodus, as he is immune to water damage.
Those using thunder weapons should focus their attacks on Jyuratodus' torso and legs for the most damage. If you have a gun, focus on the legs. However, Ice and Dragon weapons do not get bonus damage for attacking a specific area of this boss.

Resistances and ailments of Jyuratodus
Jyuratodus is resistant to various ailments in Monster Hunter Rise, but is very vulnerable to exhaust damage. Thunderblight and Stun are also viable options for fighting Jyuratodus, but if you have the chance, try bringing exhaust-assigned weapons instead, as they are the most effective.
Jyuratodus Drop Rate - Sculpt, Capture, and Break
Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards for forging armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It's pure luck what you get.
- There are several ways to get items
- You can carve three times once the monster is dead.
- You can capture the monster instead of killing it.
- Or sculpt said monster's broken appendage.
- Looting the drops from the monster
- After successfully completing your quest
Most monsters in Monster Hunter Rise have breakable parts, and Jyuratodus is no different. Hunters can break Jyuratodus' mud, head, body, legs, and tail by repeatedly damaging these areas. If you break these pieces during the hunt, you will earn additional rewards after completing the quest.
